The war in Syria

Canada 🇨🇦 “I loved Syria and being in Homs. I fled Homs to go to Jordan. My family and I spent two days on the road in the desert. We walked and drove until we reached the Jordanian border. We all shared one blanket while sleeping in the desert for 12 days. We then finally reached the Azraq refugee camp in Jordan. My family and I lived and breathed in a very small caravan.

The UN hired me as a poetry teacher. I taught kids from the ages of 12-18. I also worked with groups that organised initiatives against early marriage. I am now working with my friend, Zakaria, at the farm. I’m training for work at the moment because I love working on the farm. I spent eight years working on a farm in Lebanon but I also did some work in Syria. Farming is different in every country and especially here in Canada its different than in Syria. God willing, I can stand on my own two feet and keep a good income flowing for my family."
